beginner checking functionality

Mar 24, 2016 at 3:51 PM
I have produced an application which creates Word documents currently using Word Interop but as you will be aware this is so slow so I am looking for alternates. My documents are fairly simply but do require the following functionality :

1> Read a template document first and then add to this document
2> Be able to use Word styles (Heading 1 etc) rather than set fonts
3> Be able to insert images/PDF/Other word documents

I've had a look through the DOCX help file and I'm not sure I can do any of this other than inserting of an image which would make this a non-starter at the moment. Any comments/suggestions welcome.

  1. Yes (DocX.Load)
  2. Yes
  3. Images yes, pdf or other word documents not really. You would have to code that in.
I suggest downloading the source code and starting it up. There's a whole Examples section inside which creates 20+ documents. You should be able to figure out things from there.
